- 1920s German Witch and Devil Dual-Faced Lantern. German composition lantern with the face of a witch on one side and a devil on the other. Measures 4″ h x 3″ in diameter.
- The Germans made a wide variety of superbly rendered lanterns and this devil head is one of the very finest of the smaller form factor lanterns they produced. Made from composition, it retains its original inserts and red crêpe paper collar. Measures 3.75 inches high. Provenance: Mark B. Ledenbach Collection. - Identically dual-sided JOL lantern with slot and tab top support, connected bottom support and orange honeycomb sides, USA, Beistle, (no mark), 1937-1938, 11.25″ h x 4″ w x 12″ l. Beistle also made this lantern in a slightly smaller size. Both were manufactured with either plain orange or green paper inserts.
- Identically dual-sided JOL lantern with yellow cardboard sides connected to the main faces with metal clips, USA, Beistle, (no mark), 1933-1935, 11.5″ h x 4.75″ w x 12.5″ l. Beistle also made this lantern in a slightly smaller size. Both were manufactured with either plain orange or green paper inserts.
